Heading south along the "autostrada" see Alban hills vinyards, Appennine mountain picks and  medieval hilltop Montecassino. reaching  Naples during an orientation drive see the waterfront promenade, Santa Lucia fishing harbour with its colorful boats, the Royal Palace, Maschio Angioino  and the busy harbour. A drive along the coastal highway past Vesuvius and Pompei leads to romantic Sorrento and stunning views of dolomitic cliffs towering straight up out of the sea. Fantasyland rocky inlets, cliff-hanging villas, terraced gardens along the Amalfi drive to Positano with its whitewashed and pastel houses tumbling down the cliffs to a beach dotted with brightly painted fishing boats.  Time to explore elegant designer boutiques or to enjoy a “limoncello” at a beach front cafè. Next Amalfi  with its imposing 13th century Duomo and romantic Ravello dear to poets and musicians with beautiful villas, gardens and a breathtaking  panorama.
